Discover Hope and Help

When we experience suffering, we struggle with the questions.
Why me? Why now?
Where is God in my pain?

When we experience suffering, we struggle with our choices.
The choice we all want: pain or no pain.
The choice we all have: pity or perseverance.

What I am going to share with you is not a way out. It is a way forward.

Pain sucks for everyone. No one signs up for suffering. That’s what makes what Jesus did so remarkable. He makes all the difference. Pain sucks, but with Jesus living inside of me and with real hope for eternity beyond, my life doesn’t have to.

Book Published

Brian King is among the most un-pastorly pastors I’ve known. To read Letters To My Friends in Pain is to take a journey with someone who cares deeply about the people he is writing to; indeed, we the readers become the “friends” he’s addressing the book to.

Brian has provided us with wise counsel and good company with the friend nobody wants—pain.

Each of us will have close encounters with pain. Now we have a guide and faithful companion for our journey.

Pastor and Author of Walking Ancient Paths: A Daily Liturgy for the Sacred Journey

You are about to read a book that will encourage you. Brian is writing about how we as believers—or even non-believers—can handle pain.

You are going to be glad you read this book. And you are going to enjoy getting to know Brian King. This is a book you will want to read and recommend to others.

In these pages, Brian helps the reader to flip a switch that reveals the distorted illusions that typically accompany physical pain.

While medications can numb or deaden sensitivities to pain, these pages provide tangible insights in the way of mindset shifters—never-ending journeys that move us from just accepting and coping with pain to realizing how these inflictions can bring us closer to our creator.
